Picture this; If you know someone who was throwing up and stooling every 30 minutes, what would you do to the person? Sit at home and hope the illness will stop? Or give him first aid treatment and hope the drama stops? Or would you rush him to the hospital where he can get optimum care? One thing is certain; you just wouldn’t sit back at home and hope the person would be healed without taking any curative measures.

So likewise i’d advise that if there’s anything you’re dealing with, it’s not the time to remain where you are. It’s not a period to remain as you are. It’s a time to run TO him. “Cast all your cares upon me and I would give you rest.

Normally first aid is normally administered in the event of an accident and watched before being taken to the hospital. It’s about time to stop being overly dependent on spiritual heads. Give yourself a first-aid. Speak life, speak God’s word into that situation before going to the pastor.

We have loads of power only we don’t use it.

Showing Love

If God was to look at our shortcomings, faults or errors before blessing us, I doubt if any one of us would still be alive. ( At least I’m of sure of myself). Even in our attempt to do good, we often fall short by a long shot and yet he still blesses us.

Yet while we were yet sinners, He loved you and I so much so that He died. He sent his only Son to die so that we might be able to stand before Him as righteous – the greatest sacrifice made till this day. The gift is what we enjoy now and will continue forever.

If you concentrate on people’s shortcomings before helping them, you would NEVER do anything good to most people. The good we do to people should be unconditional; whether they appreciate it or not, whether they like us or not, whether they repay with evil or not. We have felt this love firsthand, we should not be hesitant in showing others.

A true son acts like his father. Act like your father. Show love

A true son acts like his father. Act like God. Love unconditionally

How wild can your imagination go? This wild? “Jkdfsjujhvsidssvdd” or maybe this wild “,$:;$:3:+%-7$,:%(:-%(;7″.
Whichever way, my next piece will undoubtedly stretch it just a little bit more.

Now imagine you received an alert for a deposit made into your account. It reads something like ” You have just been credited with 1,000,000,000,000,000 (1 million billion)”. You think to yourself that the scammers are at it again and within the next 3 minutes a man calls you and greets you so respectfully that you think he’s got the wrong number. He identifies himself as your bank manager and gives you infallible proof. What would you do? What would be your most predominant thought? I bet with you that your predominant thought would be about the enormity of that money and its ability to wipe away all your financial issues.

Now pick up your bible. Take a closer look at it again. Do you know that your Bible as small as it is, is worth more than (1 million billion)? Do you also know that the bible has truth that can solve ALL your financial issues and even non financial?
So many promises, so many blessings, peace of mind, exceedingly great reward are all embedded in that book.

Be reminded that God’s word is ever powerful and cannot be outdated. Don’t allow activities and events crowd your mind so much so that you don’t meditate on these promises.

Remember treasure buried or unused is useless. Your bible is useless if you don’t dig up the treasures and utilize them.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom”- Colossians 3:16

Things I wish I’d Known Before We Got Married

Before I got married

Intermittently, I read books on relationships and marriage. I’d like to share with you some lessons I picked from Gary Chapman’s book “Things I wish I knew before I got married.”

  1. Toilets are not self cleaning
  2.  I’m not just marrying only my spouse but i’m marrying into a family
  3. There’s a need to plan for our money
  4.  The love experience is not an adequate foundation for marriage
  5. Apologizing is a sign of strength
  6. Mutual sexual satisfaction doesn’t just happen.
  7. Spirituality is not about going to church
  8. Personality profoundly influences behavior
  9. The saying “Like mother like daughter and like father like son” are not myths
  10. It’s possible to solve disagreements without arguing
  11. Romantic love has two stages; Tingly feeling and Intentional Feeling. Couples must be willing to build the intentional feeling stage if they want a lasting relationship.

There you have it! What do you think?

Self Worth

A while ago, I was privileged to use one of the top notch phones. I seriously needed something to give me a sense of worth and the phone did just that. To get it, I had to make several calls and persistently ask. Eventually when I did, I felt on top of the world.

I would toy with it and just keep admiring it. I was on top of the world; no doubt. Few months later, the story changed; a better brand of phone was released and other people got it. My self esteem received a huge dent. Others began using a better and more sophisticated phone and I felt average; I felt under the world.

And then it dawned on me, Why attach my self esteem to a phone; a phone that has no long lasting value? The best phones today would be manageable phones in the feature. I couldn’t continue like that.

I began a quest to look for something to attach my self-worth to; something with a stronger foundation, something unmovable, something more reliable.

I considered money but then I didn’t have a lot of money at the time (lol) and I would have felt less important than someone who has acquired more.

I considered my physical features but then I realized that 30-40 years down the line, time would take its toll on me and the great looks I possess would fade away at least a little.

I considered my intellect and almost stuck to it until I realized that my self-esteem would also diminish if or when I engage someone who displays a greater intellect than I.

I thought and thought until it struck me; what about the love of Jesus? What about the love of God. Then I remembered John 3:16 “For God so loved the world (ME), that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”. THAT WAS IT! That was all I needed to hear to give me a permanent boost.

My knowledge of God giving me His best reminds me daily that I am extremely valuable. I mean no one gives diamonds to a swine. And so if he did that for me, then I’m inestimable, important, precious, prized. And now, on a scale of 1-100 my self esteem level is 1 googol (1 followed by 100 zeros).

I have no reason to remain depressed. I have no reason to remain downcast. Yes I may be pressed on every side sometimes but I’m not staying down because He did all that for me.

True Life Story

One morning, I decided to dress casually thinking it was friday. After I had travelled a considerable amount of distance; a distance I could not return from, I began to notice that everyone was all dressed formally. I began to worry; could I have been wrong? What would be my excuse for dressing in such a manner? What story would suffice for such throwing the rules out the window? So I looked at my calendar sincerely hoping for a miracle….

And… IT WAS FRIDAY. I was right
